We saw a great team display in very difficult conditions with a gale force wind making it difficult for both sides. Playing against the wind in the first half was always going to be difficult but the defense led by Taha and ably assisted by Jake, Seamus and Augustin managed to limit the opposition scoring. Jack was busy in goals but adjusted well to the conditions by keeping his kick outs low and finding a teammate nearly every time. This gave the midfield pairing of John and Yuhang, playing their second game of the day, the platform to take the pressure off the defense and help to get the ball down to the forwards. Some neat passing involving Sorin, Lucas and Dumitru set up a chance which Max put over the bar. Some more great play from the forwards set up a goal chance and Max showed his poachers instincts again to finish to the net - a vital score to keep St Brendan's in the game. Half time score: St Jude's 3-4 St Brendan's 1-1. 

The second half saw some positional changes and also saw St Brendan's playing with the gale force wind. All the pressure was on the St Jude's goal now and the team took advantage of the wind and we had several points scored with Yuhang, Max, Augustin, John and Sorin among the scorers. But goals were needed to claw back St Jude's first half advantage and 2 goals in quick succession from Augustin saw St Brendan's move into the lead for the first time. 

The defense still had some work to do but the full back line of Jake and Taha worked well together to limit the opposition scoring chances. The half back line of Sorin, Dumitru and Daniel were doing some great work in both defense and attack and they were involved in setting up many of the scores the St Brendan's team got in the second half. The game clinching score came after a long range effort from Seamus hit the post and rebounded back into play. Henry was alert to collect the ball and finish to the net to get the score his hard work deserved.
