On Tuesday the 14th and Wednesday 15th April the St Brendan’s Camogie and Ladies Football 1sts were in action.
First up were the Camogie team, sponsored by Comtech Engineering and Ryans of Camden Street and an away fixture against Kilmacud Crokes in Junior League 2.
There was an excellent display from the Dark Force Camogs, but the experience of Kilmacud Crokes showed and won on a 3-9 to 0-12 scoreline.
Niamh Byrne, Marie Maloney and Áine Cleary shared the 12 points.
24 hours later and the first 2026 St Brendan’s match in Grangegorman as the Ladies Footballers, Sponsored by McGowans, took on Cuala in Ladies Adult League Division 4.
What we saw under the Grangegorman lights was marked improvement as the team picks up momentum.
The Female Dark Force worked hard as unit and emerged with 7-13 to 1-7 win over a fine South Dublin outfit. Overall it was an excellent team performance and everyone played their part to get the ball down to the forwards to get all those wonderful scores.
Super work from Heather Cullen and the Mullingar Dynamo Sinead Morrissey who got her goal which hit the top corner of the net from a free in, and she also two points. Also scoring two points were Kate Conlon and Alison McGearty. Great work from the dynamic duo in midfield Holly Redington, who helped herself to a point and Fiona Bourke. Welcome back to Sinead Reilly just off the plane from her wedding last week. Many thanks to Cuala for being decent enough to agree to the refixture of this game.
Faye Kearney also got on the scoresheet with a point. There is no doubt this group of players will be buzzing going forward for the remainder of the season. Next up for the Camogie team is a 7pm throw in at Longmeadows against Ballinteer St Johns, whereas the 3 Ladies Football teams have away fixtures in the 22nd. The next div 4 game is away against Beann Eadair, the Div7 footballers travel to St Finian’s Newcastle and the Div 12 team travel to Round Towers Clondalkin.
