“New balls please”

When I watched Wimbledon as a young boy there was always a sense of excitement when after every nine games the umpire shouted “new balls please” and then the glowing new tennis balls were unveiled. Now some years later on I felt that same excitement when we received the large box of O’Neill’s Smart Touch GAA balls for the Under 7s team. It’s a small event in their madcap young lives but it made me laugh to see the smiles on their little faces as they held the perfectly white footballs aloft and were the first kids ever to get them muddy and mucky. Oisín is not just a promising footballer but quite the poser (down the front)!

None of this of course would be possible without the generosity and kindness of sponsors in the area. On this occasion we thank the wonderful Olivia O’ Flanagan who runs the Happy Days coffee van in the Grangegorman campus. The kids of St Brendan's GAA send Olivia their thanks and best wishes for a wonderful Christmas.
