In 2022 on International Women’s Day, the LGFA saluted all of the wonderful parents and guardians of our members striving to be the very best that they can be as players – and who show such wonderful support.

The campaign features a four-part video series filmed at Donaghmore-Ashbourne club in Meath and also two eBooks – one aimed at parent’s of teenage girls and the other at parents of younger girls.

In the first video we meet Saedbh, who is a little overawed as a young girl by the older players at her local club.

Thanks to the support of her father, however, Saedbh gives football a chance and she’s grateful for his encouragement.

We at St Brendan's thank the families and coaches, that encourage a love of sport in their young women, and salute the women who take to the field.
